Ramal Kazim, born in 1987, is an emerging Azerbaijani artist known for his mature and dark style. He gained recognition straight out of university for his bold exploration of human existence, often confronting uncomfortable realities. With influences from Francis Bacon and Edvard Munch, his work combines shock and tenderness, prompting viewers to ponder the complexities of life. Ramal`s art has been exhibited internationally, including in Paris and Milan, and he is a member of the Azerbaijan Artist’s Union since 2009. Currently based in Belgium, his provocative compositions challenge taboos and blur the line between reality and abstraction.
Additionally, Ramal incorporates traditional Azerbaijani carpet motifs into his work, rendered in a realistic style. These pieces showcase vivid realism, bold colors, and intricate details, capturing the essence of Azerbaijani cultural heritage.
